What it's for
Employees tells you what someone's credited revenue is. Commission Book tells you why — every client, every department, every allocation percentage that adds up to that number.
That distinction matters when the conversation is about money. "Your credited revenue is $84,000" invites an argument. A list of fourteen clients with the percentage credited on each ends it.
What you'll see
A summary row per person — name, their roles, division, department, and their credited revenue (RPE), book value (MRR) and VABO.
Expand any person for the client-by-client detail: each client with its department, division, tier and vertical; the revenue, gross profit, MRR and VABO; the person's role and allocation percentage; the revenue allocated to them; and retainer versus project revenue split out.
Filters for name, role, division and department.
An Excel export with two sheets — the summary and the full detail — so the whole thing can go into a compensation review or to Finance.
How to use it
Prepare a commission or compensation review. Filter to the person, expand their row, and export. The detail sheet is the supporting document.
Answer "why is my number what it is?" Expand the row and walk the client list together. The answer is almost always one of three things: a client is missing from their team, an allocation percentage is wrong, or the client's revenue itself is lower than they think. Each has a different fix.
Check a role group. Filter by role to compare credited books across people doing the same job — the fastest way to spot someone carrying far more or less than their peers.
Verify a split before it's contested. If you're about to change an allocation on Manage Leads, look here first to see what everyone on that client currently receives.
Good to know
The month selection drives everything. Confirm which month you're on before quoting a figure — especially in a compensation conversation.
Allocation percentages come from Manage Leads. That's where they're set and overridden. This page reports them; it can't change them.
Consulting roles use role-weighted splits rather than simple team-size splits, and Consulting is calculated on the client's total revenue rather than just the Consulting department row. So a Consulting person's percentages will look different from everyone else's — that's correct.
Retainer and project revenue are shown separately in the detail, because they're often treated differently in a commission plan.
A missing client is an assignment problem, not a reporting one. If someone should be credited on a client and isn't, they aren't on that client's team for the selected month. Fix it on Manage Leads and it appears here.
This page reports; it doesn't calculate commission. It shows credited revenue and the allocation behind it. Applying a commission plan to those numbers happens outside Signal.
Common questions
Why is my credited revenue lower than I expected? Expand your row and look for one of three things: a client you work on that isn't listed (an assignment gap), an allocation percentage lower than you thought, or a client whose revenue is itself lower than you assumed. The detail tells you which.
Why is the book value so much bigger than the credited revenue? They measure different things. Book value counts the full monthly value of every client you're on. Credited revenue is your slice after splitting each client across its team. See the Glossary.
How do I change an allocation percentage? On Manage Leads, which is Team Lead and above. It reflects here once saved.
Why do the Consulting percentages look different? Consulting uses role-weighted splits calculated on total client revenue, rather than the standard team-size splits. Intentional.
Does this calculate commission payments? No. It shows credited revenue and the allocation behind it. The plan is applied outside Signal.
Why doesn't the client revenue match our finance system? It's the same source, but check your month selection first, and remember VABO is shown as its own column rather than folded into revenue.
