Client Setup

Client settings is the shared brain for a client — instructions, memories, goals, and defaults that every agent, scan, and report draws on.

Written by Schae Lilley

Where it lives — and who it affects

Open Settings from your profile menu and stay on the Client settings page. Pick the client with the client picker in the top bar. The banner is the key thing to internalize: everything on this page is shared — it applies to everyone working on that client, across Chat, Workflow, and Agents. Set it well once, and the whole team's output improves.

Standing instructions

The Composer card holds standing instructions Iris follows in every chat, agent run, and workflow for this client — metric names the client uses, tone, targets, report formats. Example: "Always report MER and blended ROAS. Goal: $1.5M/mo revenue. Keep summaries to 3 bullets."

Because these are shared, saving over existing instructions or clearing them asks you to confirm — your edit takes effect for everyone immediately.

Memories

Memories are durable things Iris has learned about the client while working — corrections, preferences, facts, and procedures. Iris writes them itself and injects them into every conversation, and this card is where humans review that memory:

  • Edit anything that's wrong or outdated.

  • Remove anything that shouldn't be there (removal is reversible — use "Show retired" to restore).

Tip: Skim memories after a big account change — a new promo strategy or KPI shift is exactly when an old "fact" can quietly mislead a report.

Calendars, integrations, and client info

  • Promotional & fiscal calendars — upload the promo calendar and set how the client counts time, so agents frame every period correctly. Full details in "Client calendars."

  • Integrations — a read-only health view of the client's data sources (ad platforms, analytics, nova) with connection status per platform. Connecting or fixing a client data source happens in nova — this card just tells you where things stand.

  • Client information — company, website, industry, vertical, and tier. Also read-only here; to change client details, head to nova.

Goals, context, and metric weights

The number-driven half of client setup lives in the Workflow product — open its left rail's Settings group and choose Metrics:

  • Set a goal per metric — these power on-track reads in reports and the Plan page.

  • Set each metric's scan weight (Muted → Critical) to tell the always-on scanning where to focus and what matters most when ranking findings.

  • Two free-form fields — Goals and Context & scope — go to agents verbatim: what you're driving toward, and the operating realities of what the team does and doesn't own.

Nearby, the Notifications settings page sets the client's default Slack channel, where client-level updates post.

Note: All of this feeds everything downstream — scans rank findings by your weights, chat answers respect your instructions and memories, and reports open with your goals in mind. Ten minutes of setup is the highest-leverage thing you can do on a new account.
