Overview

The Products report provides a holistic view of product performance, customer purchasing behavior, and return/refund trends. It is designed to help teams understand how different product types, variants, and customer types are contributing to sales and profitability, while also identifying areas of concern such as high return or refund rates.

Integrations Required

  • OMS (Shopify, SFCC)

Sections

  • Product Overview where each KPI is compared against the prior period with directional indicators (β–² β–Ό) and % change.

    • Net Sales (OMS): Total sales revenue net of discounts and refunds.

    • Orders (OMS): Number of customer orders.

    • Average Order Value (AOV): Net Sales Γ· Orders.

    • Discounts (OMS): Total value of discounts applied.

    • Refunds (OMS): Dollar amount refunded.

    • Returned Quantity (OMS): Number of items returned.

    • Return Rate (OMS): % of ordered quantity that was returned.

Visuals & Analysis:

  • Net Sales Trend YoY

    • Weekly view of Net Sales for the current vs. prior period.

    • Helps identify seasonal spikes, promotions, or anomalies.

  • Orders by Product Type

    • Breaks down orders by high-level product categories.

    • Identifies top-selling categories.

  • Orders by Product Variant

    • Highlights demand for specific product sizes/variants.

    • Useful for inventory and packaging optimization.

  • Ordered Quantity by Customer Type

    • Splits ordered units between New vs. Returning customers.

    • Assists in understanding acquisition vs. retention dynamics.

  • Return Rate Analysis

    • Scatter plot of return rate vs. ordered quantity by product.

    • Detects problem SKUs with high returns despite high volume.

  • Net Sales by State

    • Geographic heatmap of Net Sales distribution.

    • Useful for regional sales strategy.

  • Product Detail Table

    • SKU-level view with ordered quantity, sales $, and AOV.

    • Enables deep-dive into product-specific performance.
