Creating Reports

Which report should I use?

The best report depends on what you’re trying to analyze.

  • Top Performing: Identify your highest-performing creatives overall.

  • Top Creatives: Compare creative assets.

  • Top Hooks: Analyze video hooks.

  • Top Clicks: Review creatives driving the most clicks.

  • Top Copy: Compare ad copy performance.

  • Video Analysis: Evaluate video creative performance.

  • Static Analysis: Analyze static image creatives.

  • Ad Type Comparison: Compare different ad formats.

  • Comparative Report: Compare custom groups of creatives side by side.

Can I create multiple reports at once?

Yes.

When creating reports, you can select multiple report templates simultaneously.
You can also enable Use same platforms for all reports to apply the same platform selection across every report.

Can I edit a saved report?

Yes.

Saved reports can be edited at any time. Changes to filters, KPIs, layouts, or report settings can be saved without creating a new report.

Filters & KPIs

Why doesn’t my report show all creatives?

Creative Reports only displays creatives that match the selected filters.

Check:

  • Date range

  • Platform selection

  • Custom Ad Groups

  • Performance filters

  • Campaign filters

Why don’t I see certain KPIs?

Available KPIs depend on the connected advertising platforms and available campaign data.

My report is showing the wrong ads / too many ads / not all my active ads. What's the first thing to check?

Check your filters and date range before anything else. In the large majority of "the report looks wrong" cases, the cause is a filter or date-range setting, not a defect.

Common culprits:

  • A spend threshold filter (e.g. "Spend is greater than $100") silently hides lower-spend ads. This is easy to forget you set, and it's invisible on the client's side even though you see it internally.

  • A date range that doesn't match what you're comparing against in-platform.

  • An active-status filter dropping ads (see the status question below).

  • A filter keyword that doesn't match the campaign/ad naming exactly.

Before reporting a bug, remove filters one at a time and confirm whether the missing ads reappear.

What's the difference between "Group by Creative" and "Group by Ad Name"?

They roll ads up differently and will produce different results; this matters a lot:

  • Group by Ad Name consolidates by the ad's name.

  • Group by Creative consolidates by the creative asset, so the same creative running across multiple campaigns/ad sets can be combined into one line.

Two things to know:

  • If your metrics look inflated or a creative appears many times, try switching Group by Creative → Group by Ad Name. Group-by-creative can lump distinct ads together and sum them.

  • Switching to Group by Ad Name can make dynamic ad formats disappear in some cases. If your dynamic ads vanish, that's the known trade-off; flag it and use group-by-creative in the meantime.

My filters aren't applying at all; ads I filtered out still show up.

First, confirm the filter saved and the page finished loading.
If filtered-out ads still appear after that, flag it with the report link and the exact filter you applied so it can be reproduced.

Views

What’s the difference between the report views?

Creative Reports includes three visualization modes:

Card View

Displays creatives as individual cards with previews and selected KPIs.

Bar Chart View

Displays creative performance as a bar chart for easier comparison.

Trend View

Displays performance over time using a line chart.

Why is there also a Table View?

The Table View is a separate section that appears below the visualizations.

It provides the detailed performance data behind the report and remains synchronized with the selected filters and KPIs.

How many KPIs can I compare in Trend View?

Trend View supports up to two KPIs at the same time.

Each KPI is displayed using its own axis, making it easier to compare metrics with different scales.

AI Analysis

Is AI Analysis available for external clients?

No. AI Analysis is currently available only to internal Power Digital users and is not accessible through the Client Portal.

Clients can still create, customize, save, and share Creative Reports, but AI-generated summaries and recommendations are currently an internal-only feature.

What does AI Analysis include?

AI Analysis summarizes report performance and provides recommendations, including:

  • Performance overview

  • Winning creative patterns

  • Areas for improvement

  • Suggested next steps

  • Creative recommendations

Should AI Analysis replace manual analysis?

No.

AI Analysis is intended to support strategic decision-making and should be reviewed alongside your own analysis before presenting recommendations to clients.

Metrics & customization

How do I add the custom metric my client optimizes toward?

Custom Meta metrics are live; add them from the KPI selector / dropdown in your creative report. Note: if a metric returns a 0 value it won't be selectable in the top view, but you can still toggle it on in the table view. If you need a custom metric that isn't available yet, add it to the shared custom-metrics tracking sheet so the team can build it in.

Are custom metrics available on every report type?

Custom Meta metrics work across standard creative reports. Support for Comparative and Ad Type reports was the last gap and was being closed; if you don't see a custom metric on those report types, flag it.

Can I get a totals row and color-coding by performance?

Yes. Cell formatting (color-coding metrics vs. the report average) and totals can be toggled on directly in the table view.

Can I reorder the KPIs / save column presets across reports?

Drag-and-drop reordering of the top metrics bar has been added. If your KPI order reverts after saving, that's a known glitch being addressed; flag it with a screen recording

Sharing Reports

What happens when I publish a report?

Publishing makes the report available in the Client Portal.

Clients with access to the portal can view the published report.

Why does my share link just go to the nova homepage?

This is the most common point of confusion, and it's expected behavior, there are

two different links:

  • For clients (external): Use the Share / Publish button. This generates a client-facing link that resolves once the client is logged into their nova portal. If you click it yourself while logged in as an internal user, it will look like it "redirects to the homepage"; that's normal. It works correctly for the logged-in client.

  • For internal teammates: Just copy the URL straight from the report page (the …/creative-reports?reportId=… address in your browser bar). Anyone at PDM can open that directly.

So a link "redirecting to the homepage" is almost never broken; you're most likely testing the client link from an internal view.

Do clients need a nova account to view a shared report?

Yes. Shared reports appear in the client's nova portal, so the client needs portal access. If your client isn't set up yet, flag it so the team can help get them onboarded.

Can I edit a published report?

Yes.

Any saved changes will be reflected the next time the client views the report.

Can I edit a report created by a client?

Yes.

Client-created reports appear in Creative Reports and can be viewed or edited by internal users.

Can external users edit the report filters for reports created by the Power Digital team?

External users can modify the date range when viewing reports shared by the Power Digital team.
However, all other report filters are locked and cannot be edited.

Any changes made to the date range are temporary and cannot be saved by the external user.

The original report configuration remains unchanged.

Note: Reports created by external users are fully customizable. They have complete control over the report configuration, including filters, KPIs, grouping, and other available settings.

Platforms & integrations

Which ad platforms does CA support?

Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. LinkedIn Document Ads are supported. TikTok Spark Ads are mostly pulling through, with full coverage still being finalized; if a client has a heavy Spark Ads footprint and you see gaps, flag them.

How long does it take for ads to appear after connecting a client’s integrations?

After connecting an advertising platform, it typically takes up to 24 hours for creatives and performance metrics to begin appearing in Creative Reports.

If no data appears after 24 hours, verify that the integration is connected successfully. If the issue persists, flag the client so the team can investigate and confirm the integration is syncing correctly.
